Working with two platform statements can make a simple calculation look complicated. The first step is to identify which earnings and fuel transactions belong to the settlement you are checking.
The figures below are an illustration. They do not describe an actual customer's earnings or promise a particular income.
Start with the same settlement period
Suppose the relevant statements contain:
- Uber earnings included in the calculation: 1,200 PLN.
- Bolt earnings included in the calculation: 800 PLN.
- Fuel card expenses included for that period: 300 PLN.
The combined earnings are 2,000 PLN. Deducting the 300 PLN fuel expense once leaves a balance after fuel of 1,700 PLN.
If the same 300 PLN were taken from Uber and then taken again from Bolt, the balance would be understated by 300 PLN. The point of a combined summary is to make that shared deduction visible.
What if you use only one platform?
Using the same illustrative Uber figure, 1,200 PLN of included earnings less 300 PLN of included fuel expenses gives a balance after fuel of 900 PLN. There is no Bolt amount to add in that example.
The calculation still needs the correct dates. Check whether a transaction belongs to the stated week or to a different period, and whether the platform import covers the period you expect.
Keep other adjustments separate
A balance after fuel describes that calculation. Depending on your arrangement, other agreed items may also affect the final payment. Taxes, contributions, rental charges and other adjustments should not be silently assumed to be included in a fuel-only example.
Read the labels on your actual statement and ask about any item that is unclear.
Check payment status as well as the balance
An amount can be calculated before payment is completed. Look for the status of the relevant settlement, then compare it with the payment information you have. If a difference remains, quote the period and amount when contacting the team.
