The cheapest rental offer is not always the best match for the distance you expect to drive. A mileage allowance can change the overall cost considerably, especially if you use a car for work as well as getting around Warsaw.
Estimate a realistic week
Start with the journeys you already know: travel between your accommodation and work, regular errands and any longer trips. If you drive professionally, include distance travelled between jobs and returning home, not only the kilometres attached to paid trips.
As an illustration, five days at 120 kilometres plus 80 kilometres of personal driving totals 680 kilometres. That is a planning example, not a typical earnings pattern or a promise about what a particular rental includes. Use your own recent driving record whenever possible.
Find out how the allowance is measured
- Is the limit daily, weekly or for the full agreement?
- Are unused kilometres carried into an extension?
- What is the charge per additional kilometre?
- Which start and return readings will be recorded?
- Does the permitted use include the work you intend to do?
A weekly allowance should not automatically be divided or combined across separate bookings unless the agreement says that is allowed. Ask how a vehicle change during the rental affects the calculation too.
Compare the complete cost
For a hypothetical comparison, Offer A costs 600 PLN and includes 500 kilometres, with an additional 0.50 PLN per kilometre. Driving 800 kilometres would add 150 PLN, making 750 PLN before other charges. An offer costing 720 PLN with sufficient included mileage could therefore be cheaper for that particular week. Fuel, parking and any other agreed costs still need to be considered separately. Avoid subtracting those items twice when comparing a rental quote with a driver settlement.
Keep the collection and return readings
